Position Summary: Responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information and to prepare accurate and timely financial reports. Key responsibilities involve adhering to federal, state, and other agency guidelines, assisting with grant applications and audits, and managing the financial close-out of grants.
- Budget Management: Create, develop, and oversee detailed budgets for grant-funded projects, ensuring alignment with grant guidelines and restrictions
- Expenditure Tracking: Monitor grant-related expenditure, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and allocation to appropriate accounts along with timely collection of receivables
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to grantors and other stakeholders, detailing fund utilization and progress.
- Compliance & Reconciliation: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations, performing periodic reconciliations of grant accounts to identify and correct discrepancies
- Audit Support: Assist with grant audits by providing necessary financial documentation and explanations to auditors.
- Record Keeping

Maintain comprehensive financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other relevant documents related to grant-funded projects - Grant Close-Out: Oversee the financial close-out process for grants, filing final expenditure reports and ensuring all financial obligations are met
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in finance, accounting, or business
- Experience working in nonprofit environment required
- Experience with A-133 audits required
- 5 – 7 years of experience performing similar duties
- 3 – 5 years grant reporting experience
- 3 years supervisory experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Financial Edge software a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal skills
Skills/Abilities
- Experience with A-133 audits required
