Role OverviewThe Senior Client Relationship Manager will manage relationships with key institutional accounts, ensuring retention and promoting cross-sales of investment products. This role involves regular client interaction, strategic communication of portfolio positioning, and coordination with internal teams to deliver high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities- Strengthen relationships with major institutional clients through proactive engagement
- Promote additional investment strategies based on client needs and market developments
- Execute complex client transactions and requests accurately and promptly
- Lead and coordinate efforts of Client Service Associates to ensure consistent messaging
- Mentor junior relationship managers and support smaller client accounts
- Represent William Blair’s investment expertise in client review meetings
- Collaborate with Sales to generate leads and support the sales process
- Deliver insights on market trends, research, and portfolio performance
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced financial degree preferred
- CFA designation preferred
- 7–15 years of institutional experience in consulting, portfolio management, or client services
- Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses required or must be obtained within 90 days
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, investment strategies, and economics
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver client presentations
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- High attention to detail and follow-through
- Base salary range: $200,000 – $225,000
- Eligible for discretionary annual bonus and/or commission-based incentives
