PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Project Controls Cost Analyst in our Chicago, IL Central Shop location. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Chicago location.
This is a job family (Associate Project Controls Analyst, Project Controls Analyst, Senior Project Controls Analyst) where experience is the determining factor.

Job SummaryThe Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting cost and/or schedule management of limited scope and complexity on a variety of projects and provides cross‑departmental support. Assignments may include updating project schedules, preparing cost reports and preparing ad‑hoc reporting for project management.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Project Controls Cost Analyst is responsible for providing financial oversight, cost tracking, and analysis to support the successful delivery of capital projects. This role ensures that project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures are accurately maintained and reported, supporting effective decision‑making and compliance with Company governance and financial controls. The Cost Analyst collaborates closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Finance, and Supply Chain to maintain financial integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
The position plays a key role in monitoring performance, managing cost risks, and ensuring alignment between project execution and program‑level financial objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management
- Associate Project Controls Analyst: 0-2 yrs. relevant project controls experience (internship/co‑op experience may be included as relevant project controls experience).
- Project Controls Analyst:
- 2+ years relevant project controls experience
- 2+ years' Experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience with Power Plan, People Soft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access
- 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience by leading projects and teams
- Senior Project Controls Analyst:
- 5+ years relevant project controls experience
5+ years'
Experience with various computer software, specifically Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat. Preferred experience with Power Plan, People Soft, SAP, Primavera P6, and/or Microsoft Access
5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience by leading projects and teams
- 5+ years relevant project controls experience
- Strong understanding of cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Familiarity with PMO governance and earned value management
- Proficient in cost management systems (SAP, SAP Business Warehouse, Maximo) Estimating Tool) and scheduling tools (Primavera P6)
- Skilled in financial reporting and risk identification
- Effective communicator with technical teams, executives, and regulators

Positive feedback from Project Managers, Finance, and leadership
