Balmoral Advisors is an independent, sector-focused investment bank advising middle-market companies on mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and financial restructurings. The firm specializes in manufacturing and distribution, with particular focus on building products, chemicals & materials, industrials, and plastics & packaging.

Analysts at Balmoral work directly with senior bankers on live transactions in a lean, apprenticeship-style environment, gaining hands-on experience and meaningful responsibility from day one.

Role Overview

This role is designed for highly motivated early-career professionals seeking rigorous training and real transaction exposure in middle-market investment banking. Analysts are integral members of deal teams and contribute across transaction execution and business development.

Responsibilities
  • Build financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction-related analyses.
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, and confidential deal marketing materials.
  • Analyze company financials, operating performance, and industry dynamics.
  • Conduct industry and company research; synthesize findings into clear insights.
  • Develop lists of potential buyers, investors, and acquisition targets.
  • Support senior bankers in day-to-day transaction execution and business development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record and demonstrated leadership.
  • Coursework in finance, accounting, and economics required; chemistry or engineering coursework preferred.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and valuation skills; advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled research and productivity tools preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and work extended hours when required.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Fluency in English; U.S. work authorization required.
  • Prior internship or relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance is a plus.
