Senior Property Accountant

I am currently partnering with a high-growth, vertically integrated Real Estate Private Equity firm in downtown Chicago to find a Senior Property Accountant.

The firm is in an aggressive growth phase after recently closing a major flagship fund focused on open-air retail assets. This is a fast-paced, "hands-on" environment perfect for someone who thrives in the full-cycle month-end close process and wants direct visibility to senior leadership.

The Role:

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of retail assets.
• Lead the annual CAM, Tax, and Insurance reconciliations/true-ups (Must-Have).
• Perform detailed variance analysis and GAAP financial reporting.
• Collaborate closely with Property and Asset Management on budgets and reforecasts.

The Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting (Non-negotiable).
• Retail Real Estate experience is strongly preferred (Open-air/Shopping Centers).
• Must have direct experience with CAM reconciliations.
• Software: Yardi experience is a major plus.
• Background: The hiring manager is looking for a "Property-side" expert (not seeking candidates straight out of Public Accounting).

The Logistics:

• Location: Downtown Chicago (4 days/week onsite).
• Compensation: $80K – $120K base + discretionary bonus.
• Culture: High-growth, entrepreneurial, and minimal ego.
