Brown & Brown is seeking a Benefits Analyst for Employee Benefits to join our growing team in Chicago, IL
.
We look for a candidate with a thorough understanding of the employee benefits space, strong analytical and technical expertise, and a commitment to client satisfaction. Success in this role means delivering accurate insights that drive informed decisions and strengthen client relationships.
How You Will Contribute- Monitor monthly financials for clients, including entry of data into client exhibits.
- Prepare and send monthly financial reports to clients, providing analysis of activity and large‑claim detail.
- Create basic financial/underwriting exhibits such as financial projections, large‑claim analysis, specific stop‑loss analysis, demographics analysis, and IBNR.
- Work with the Team Lead to develop reporting requirements and customize reports as needed.
- Coordinate and execute the implementation of new client custom reporting packages.
- Assist Account Executives/Benefits Consultants in preparing RFPs and renewal proposals of benefit coverages.
- Apply basic knowledge of compliance and regulations in the benefits arena.
- Participate in market meetings, seminars and training programs as directed.
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects, including involvement in presentations, client functions and meetings.
- Handle routine or periodic travel, driving own vehicle or a rental; maintain a Motor Vehicle Record and minimum insurance coverages as required.
- Must obtain and maintain an active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within one year.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of financial experience with a thorough understanding of employee benefits.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel at a strong‑to‑expert level.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking ability.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client financial requirements.
$28.85 – $36.06 Hourly
