The Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) Officer will assist in the implementation and management of CIBC’s Regulatory Compliance Management Program (RCM Program). The RCM Program establishes CIBC’s firmwide approach to compliance risk oversight and assessment of compliance risk in the US Region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment & Quality Control – Conduct effective challenge and quality control reviews of risk assessments to ensure timely identification and remediation of errors and missing information.
  • Regulatory Inventory Management – Manage the ongoing review, validation, and enhancement of the US Region regulatory inventory within the GRC platform, ensuring requirements, obligations, controls, and related data fields are current and accurately mapped.
  • Regulatory Change Management – Direct the assessment and response to new or amended regulatory developments, facilitating impact analysis, stakeholder communication, and timely implementation of compliance actions.
  • Risk Reporting – Prepare and deliver timely and accurate reports of risk assessment results and program metrics to stakeholders and management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, providing support and effective challenge on RCM Program processes, regulatory changes, risk assessments, controls, and deficiencies.
  • Training – Develop and deliver training on risk assessment methodology and regulatory change management processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years’ experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or compliance audit/testing role with a large banking or financial services organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of US federal and state banking regulations.
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with data analytics, visualization, and reporting is preferred.
  • Experience with GRC platforms supporting regulatory inventory management, risk assessment, change management, and quality control.
