Our client is seeking a highly motivated Loan Operations Specialist with approximately 3 years of experience supporting Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) and leveraged loan portfolios. This role will be based in Chicago and will support the operational lifecycle of CLO vehicles, including trade settlement, loan servicing, reconciliations, and investor reporting. Experience with Aladdin is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities- Support day-to-day loan operations for CLO and leveraged loan portfolios
- Process and reconcile loan trades, settlements, assignments, amendments, and paydowns
- Monitor and validate interest accruals, rate resets, principal payments, and corporate actions
- Perform cash and position reconciliations between internal systems, trustees, custodians, and administrators
- Review trustee reports, waterfall calculations, and compliance tests for CLO vehicles
- Coordinate with portfolio management, trading, middle office, trustees, and external service providers
- Ensure data accuracy across systems and timely resolution of breaks
- Support monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting for internal stakeholders and investors
- Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory requests
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in loan operations, structured credit operations, or middle office, direct CLO exposure preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of leveraged loans and loan lifecycle events
- Experience working with trustees, custodians, and loan agents
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced Wall Street environment
