About The Department
Franklin Templeton Fixed Income (FTFI) is an investment advisory unit of Franklin Templeton Investments, managing a diverse range of single- and multi-sector fixed income strategies. With over $215 billion in global fixed income assets under management, FTFI leverages expertise from teams based in San Mateo, Boston, London, New York, Chicago, and Singapore. The group’s disciplined approach integrates top-down macroeconomic views, bottom-up research, and rigorous portfolio construction to deliver consistent, risk‑adjusted returns across global markets.
Key Responsibilities- Trade Execution
:
Execute buy and sell orders for corporate bonds (investment grade and high yield), ensuring best execution and compliance. - Market Analysis & Idea Generation
:
Monitor global financial markets, economic indicators, interest rates, credit spreads, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities; provide market commentary and actionable ideas to portfolio managers. - Collaboration & Communication
:
Work closely with portfolio managers to support investment strategies; liaise with brokers, counter parties, and internal teams (research, sales, operations, technology, risk) to optimize trading and resolve issues; build and maintain strong relationships with market counter parties. - Technology & Innovation
:
Use advanced trading platforms, market data systems, and internal tools; explore technology solutions to enhance trading efficiency and risk management. - Reporting & Documentation
:
Prepare reports and presentations on trading activity, risk exposures, and market trends; maintain accurate trading records. - Compliance & Due Diligence
:
Ensure all trading activities meet firm and industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies.
- Requires 3-5 years’ experience trading fixed‑income securities, focusing on corporate bonds (investment grade and high yield).
- CFA or post‑graduate degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or related field.
- Deep understanding of financial markets and investment processes.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency with market data platforms and trading systems, including Charles River or Aladdin.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Self‑motivated, committed to learning, and able to work independently and in teams.
- On‑site 4 days per week in San Mateo, CA / Chicago, IL / Boston, MA.
