Ziegler is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Chicago. This role supports our accounting efforts and provides a broad range of experiences. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the firm’s Controller and plays a key role in day‑to‑day accounting operations. Responsibilities include financial reporting, development and maintenance of accounting principles, general ledger preparation, Treasurer functions, year‑end audit preparation and budget support.

• Conduct treasurer cash management functions
• Provide accounting support for broker‑dealer activities and assist with month‑end close activities
• Complete broker‑dealer net capital compliance activities and regulatory reporting
• Serve as the liaison with investment banking, capital markets and private equity areas
• Assist in workplace expense management and fixed‑asset accounting
• Ensure accurate deliverables for monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close
• Manage private equity accounting activities
• Assist in HUD accounting and regulatory reporting
• Assist the Controller and CFO with ad hoc reporting and projects
• Support budget activities
• Assist in tax compliance
• Respond to inquiries from CFO, CEO and other managers regarding financial results and special requests
• Help develop and implement new procedures and features to enhance departmental workflow

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA preferred
• At least 3‑4 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in broker‑dealer, municipal finance or auditing is preferred
• Experience with Great Plains, Investran/Carta and expense management systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi‑task, work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated efficiency and flexibility in a fast‑paced environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
