EY Private Tax is a growing practice focused on privately held companies and their owners and families, including high-growth private enterprises and cross-border work. This role is a key leadership position within a global team, focusing on technical tax planning and compliance for high net worth individuals and their families, with opportunities for cross-functional collaboration and development of leadership and business acumen.

• Research tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies
• Translate complex data from various sources into client-ready insights and deliverables
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs to provide tailored service
• Explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
• Maintain professional reputation by updating and sharing technical knowledge
• Manage, coach and develop a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and ensuring knowledge, tools and opportunities for growth
• Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with significant tax, business or financial planning experience
• CPA certification or membership in The Bar
• Minimum 5 years in professional services or professional tax organization
• Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation
• Experience with flow-through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs)
• Understanding of automated tax processing systems
• Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus
• Commitment to continuous learning
• Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills and ability to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
• Willingness to travel as needed and to work in a balanced hybrid environment

• Proven track record in a professional services environment
• Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with internal and client teams

• Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with base salary ranges (US): $106,500 to $195,100;
  New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California ranges: $127,700 to $221,700. Total Rewards include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k), and paid time off.
• Hybrid work model with most client-facing roles expected to be in person 40-60% of the time
