The Trust Consultant will be responsible for driving the positioning and sales of professional trustee services and charitable solutions within an assigned territory by working with financial advisors to cultivate new trust opportunities using a menu of trustee and charitable partners. This position serves as the local subject‑matter expert to answer general questions on trust planning and administration.
Responsibilities- Positioning trustee and philanthropic services within the wealth planning framework as an essential planning consideration.
- Prospecting for new trusts with FAs using seminars, presentations, networking, one‑on‑one consultations, trust and book of business reviews.
- Providing FAs support in identifying potential trust clients through the use of dashboards, opportunity reports and ideal/targeted client discussions.
- Acting as a liaison between our trust partners and the advisors.
- Serving as the subject‑matter expert in client meetings while coaching and modeling an ideal wealth‑planning client experience.
- Providing guidance to advisors and their clients on the technical aspects of established trusts.
- Recruiting and onboarding new advisors’ established trust businesses.
- Educating and coaching RBC Wealth Management’s FA, Client Strategies Team and other product and support teams on trust and giving strategies and opportunities.
- Minimum of 10 years in the financial services industry with specific personal trust expertise.
- Understanding of planning concepts, including expertise in estate planning.
- Excellent understanding of the financial services industry and branch office/financial advisor responsibilities.
- Minimum of a four‑year college degree.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including proven presentation development and delivery skills.
- Strong customer‑service perspective, style and an understanding of relationship selling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sales Force and Outlook.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 35% of the time. Coverage includes branches in over 10 states.

The expected salary range for this position is $94,000–$165,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
