MANAGER- LEVELUP GAMING CENTER
TRUMAN COLLEGE

Truman College is seeking a Manager – Level Up Gaming Center to provide leadership, vision, and operational oversight for Truman College’s e-gaming and digital engagement space. This role is анапх responsible for creating a dynamic, inclusive, and future-focused environment that blends competitive gaming, technology skill-building, and community connection. The Manager oversees day-to-day operations, supports students’ professional and academic growth through gaming and technology and leverages the Center as a strategic asset to attract and engage new students.

Performs related duties as required.

General Responsibilities

Center Operations & Management

  • Oversee daily operationsنب of the Level Up Gaming Center, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment for all students.
  • Manage scheduling, facility use, and maintenance of gaming equipment, technology, and furniture.
  • Develop and enforce usage policies, safety standards, and equitable access practices.
  • Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate with IT or vendors for repairs and upgrades.

Student Engagement & Programming

  • Design and implement programs that use gaming and technology to enhance student engagement and career readiness.
  • Partner එක with academic programs to integrate e-sports, digital literacy, and STEM-related experiences into courses and co-curricular experiences.
  • Support esports teams, gaming clubs, and tournaments that promote teamwork, problem-solving, and competitive play.
  • Host workshops on game design, coding, and emerging technology to expand students’ technical skillsets.

Career Development & Tech Pathways

  • Collaborate with Truman’s Center of Excellence in Education and workforce partners to connect skills learned through gaming with careers in technology, digital media, and esports.
  • Facilitate student exposure to tech-related fields and professional opportunities by hosting industry panels, networking events, and guest speakers.
  • Build partnerships with local employers and community organizations to create internships and work-based learning opportunities.

Recruitment & Marketing

  • Leverage the Level Up Gaming Center as a recruitment tool to attract prospective students, particularly those interested in technology, esports, and digital careers.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing strategies curtains to promote the Center’s programs to high school students, community members, and CPS educators.
  • Represent the Center at recruitment fairs, open houses, and community events to inspire future students.

Assessment & Reporting

  • Track and report usage data, program participation, and student outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to assess the impact of the Level Up Gaming Center on student engagement, learning, retention, and career readiness.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and future investments in the Gaming Center.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience OR in lieu of an Associate’s degree, a minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of experience in student engagement, esports/gaming также program management, technology education, or a closely related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered at the discretion of management.
  • Experience overseeing technical equipment, including setup, maintenance coordination, and inventory management, preferred.
  • Experience managing or supporting physical spaces or labs, including scheduling, operations, and day‑to‑day functionality, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of gaming culture, the esports industry, and emerging technology trends, with the ability to apply gaming and digital tools to support learning, workforce development, and career pathways.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and engage diverse audiences.
