Job Description
Senior Quality Engineer for BWay Corporation to work at our Chicago, IL loc.
Essential Duties- Using process approach, evaluate existing practices and conduct gap analyses against international quality system standards and existing procedures; develop and propose modifications to close gaps.
- Analyze and interpret product data using appropriate tools to improve capability, reliability, and compliance.
- Assess impact of changes using quantitative and qualitative tools.
- Validate process and product changes to ensure desired results are achieved and sustainable.
- Facilitate or participate in improvement teams to resolve repetitive or complex problems.
- Assess measurement systems to ensure reliable process and product measurement data; develop and propose modifications.
- Train process owners for system changes and conduct audits at appropriate intervals to ensure implementation and sustainability.
- Develop or revise documentation according to best practices and company approach.
- Execute internal audits and assist with preparations for external customer or third‑party certification audits.
- Deliver SPC improvements and become a subject matter expert in Infinity QS SPC software.
- Interact with production floor and management to determine root cause analysis for quality defects and develop resolutions to correct deficiencies.
- Communicate and investigate customer inquiries relating to quality.
- Work with Operations team to find solutions to customer complaints focusing on permanent corrective action.
- Review, measure, and proactively study KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to prevent substandard product from not meeting customer specs.
- Little regional travel to clients or suppliers.
- Travel not to exceed 60 days per year or 2 days in a single trip.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Management or related field; 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience with a background in quality or engineering; and required skills.
- Requires 5 years of experience in preventive quality engineering techniques including PFMEA, SWOT analysis, root cause/failure analysis, and 8
Ds;
Lean manufacturing practices including A3, fishbone diagrams, and Kaizens;
Microsoft Office and Minitab.
Wage: $120,370 to $133,120.
