The Role

As a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will lead collaboration across teams, provide technical support during production, and present designs to customers while staying current with engineering trends and technologies. Strong communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork are essential to ensure project success and smooth execution. This position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Play an active role as a team member in the Mechanical Design Engineering team, contributing expertise and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Handle the complete design process, from initial concept development to detailed design and final review.
  • Develop and design mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring they meet functional, performance, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Oversee the creation of engineering drawings and documentation, adhering to industry standards and company guidelines.
  • Stay up to date on the latest mechanical engineering technologies and trends, continuously expanding knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and cross‑functional team members to ensure project success, fostering effective communication and teamwork.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams, addressing design‑related issues and ensuring smooth production processes.
  • Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, analyzing problems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Present designs to customers in weekly review meetings.
  • Perform any additional reasonable tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Journeyman tool maker.
  • 10 years of experience in designing automation equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead a mechanical design project team.
  • Work effectively in cross‑functional teams.
  • Proficient in Solid Works CAD software, including FEA simulation.
  • Proficient in MS Office and engineering calculation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong practical knowledge of mechanical design and pre‑form engineering calculations.
  • Reliable transportation and an ability to travel;
    Senior Lead Mechanical Engineers should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lifts or moves up to 25 pounds.
