Reporting directly to the Director, Electrical Engineering, the Electrical Engineer II will prepare the electrical design packages (drawings, specifications and technical calculations) for power and lighting systems and ensure compliance for all Metra facilities. Supervise and coordinate activities of construction contract contractors and provide guidance and supervision for design projects prepared by outside consultants. Provide capital and maintenance project cost estimates and cost studies to determine accuracy and cost effectiveness of the designs.
Develop project and construction schedules. Prepare the scope of work and complete Grant Development's project request forms to insure adequate funding for proposed capital projects. This position is issued a cellular phone. Must be available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late, afternoon, evenings, or weekends. Must be able to operate a vehicle. Perform other related duties as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
