Senior Mechanical Engineer

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Chicago is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to join its growing team. The firm is known for designing innovative, sustainable building systems across sectors including commercial, healthcare, higher education, and mission-critical facilities.

You’ll lead mechanical design on complex building projects, manage client relationships, and coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines. This role offers the opportunity to shape project outcomes, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the firm’s reputation for technical excellence and integrated design.

• Lead and develop HVAC design solutions for a variety of building types.
• Manage mechanical scope, budgets, and schedules across multiple projects.
• Oversee technical documentation and ensure compliance with local codes and sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver exceptional results.
• Support business development through proposal input and project presentations.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in building systems design.
• PE license strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Proficiency in Revit, energy modelling tools, and current mechanical codes.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership experience.
