You will join a global engineering team focused on Grid Integration to support business operations in North America. This role will manage the project interconnection process from application through commissioning, including dynamic model analysis and model tuning for interconnection studies and compliance with reliability standards.
Responsibilities- Track and stay current with ISO codes and requirements related to reliability standards, project interconnection, and dynamic models.
- Assess grid code compliance for various ISOs based on the existing product portfolio and provide guidance on meeting code and interconnection requirements.
- Lead conversations with project stakeholders regarding application data (technical specifications, forms, dynamic models), interconnection processes (planning, studies), and commissioning (plant tests, reports).
- Support project owners during the interconnection process by coordinating internal engineering resources and tracking all required data (technical specs, forms, dynamic models, test reports).
- Conduct simulations using dynamic models (PSS/E, TSAT, PSCAD) representing wind turbine generators and plant controllers, including Balance of Plant elements, to ensure compliance with reliability standards and ISO codes or to validate model quality.
- Act as liaison with the global Grid Integration team to develop strategies supporting North American business operations.

Requirements a) Competencies/Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)- Knowledge and experience in power systems integration (onshore wind farms), project applications, reliability standards, and ISO interconnection requirements.
- Broad familiarity with NERC reliability standards and major ISO codes in North America (ERCOT, NSPI, CAISO, AESO, Sask Power, Hydro Quebec).
- Advanced expertise in dynamic model analysis using software tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, and DIgSILENT Power Factory.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in technical report writing and presentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain a passport for international travel.
- Excellent command of English; additional languages (German, Spanish) are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Ph.D. in Power Electronics is desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable or traditional energy development or transmission planning.
- Experience with high-voltage and transmission system planning, particularly project interconnection processes.
- Hands-on experience with dynamic model analysis software (PSCAD, PSS/E, TSAT, DIgSILENT).
- Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 20%).
- Driving is an essential function of the job; must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under company policy. Periodic driver's abstract checks will be conducted to confirm continued insurability.
