Role DescriptionThis is a full‑time on‑site role for an Engineering Technician located in Chicago, IL. The Engineering Technician will support the development and testing of electrical components and systems, assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment, and perform hands‑on tasks such as soldering and assembling circuits. The role includes testing, measuring, and analyzing systems using specialized equipment, providing technical support to engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Inthis role, you will:
- Be a core member on the Design Engineering team responsible for building high quality electromechanical assemblies that include PCBs, wire harnesses, motors, and mechanical components
- Perform incoming quality inspection for contract manufacturing PCB and wire harness builds
- Organize and manage prototype test setups/fixtures
- Perform testing on electrical components, PCBs, and assemblies
- Perform PCB, mechanical assemblies, and subsystem builds
- Manage BOMs and organize lab inventories
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment throughout builds and engineering tests
- 5+ years of experience working in a hands‑on role in R&D or manufacturing in close collaboration with engineering staff.
- Experience with prototype builds, testing and operating test equipment.
- Experience debugging and repairing electrical failures on PCBs.
- Experience assembling subsystems and wire harnesses.
- Comfortable using soldering iron, crimping tools, and basic electronics test equipment.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting.
- You are self‑motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others.
- Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity; balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
- Exceptional candidates may have experience bringing new products to market, sleep and respiratory health, medical devices, QA testing, airway‑safe materials design, motor control, firmware development, PCB design, Python scripting, and AI‑enhanced workflows.

The base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $240,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
