Job Description
An enterprise security client of ours is seeking a Solutions Engineer to support the design and delivery of post-sale electronic security systems. In this role, the Solutions Engineer is responsible for the detailed design, engineering, value engineering, and documentation of security solutions following contract award.
This position is part of the Solutions Engineering department, which plays a critical role in translating, expanding, finalizing, and documenting pre-sales proposals and technical designs developed by Sales and Solutions Architecture during the systems architecting and quoting phase. The Solutions Engineer works closely with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Operations, and external customers to ensure solutions are accurately engineered and successfully delivered.
The primary deliverables for the Solutions Engineer include comprehensive security system and construction technical documentation. This includes custom installation drawings and instructions, network design diagrams, riser diagrams, typical installation details, point-to-point system schedules, door hardware schedules, document redlines, functional narratives describing system operation, and complete as-built documentation.

Demonstrated experience with card access systems
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of (5-10) years of hands‑on experience in electronic security systems design and engineering, with a strong emphasis on field experience
Proven background in enterprise‑level security environments
Experience with Genetec, including badge/card access, video surveillance, and physical security systems
Strong ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams while managing multiple large, complex projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong analytical decision‑making and influence skills - Blue Beam
Ability to plan, size, and design enterprise‑class IT network and storage solutions, including:
Virtualization (VMware vSphere, View)
Data‑center networking (Cisco Nexus)
Storage Area Networks (Net App, EMC)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Visio, and ability to interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings
Working knowledge of AC/DC circuitry, voltage drop calculations, and wire sizing
