Overview

Experienced Hydrogeologist/Geologist – Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Chicago, Illinois. Full-time.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

As our new hydrogeologist you will be part of the team that utilizes critical thinking abilities for analysis and group participation for development of reports based on evaluation of environmental data and application of regulatory criteria.

Responsibilities
  • Apply scientific principles and concepts to area(s) of specialization; able to draw solutions from education, formal training, and experience
  • Critical thinking abilities for analysis and group participation for development of reports based on evaluation of environmental data and application of regulatory criteria
  • Evaluate hydrogeologic site characteristics (e.g., generate geologic/hydrogeologic cross sections, conceptual site models, contaminant maps), identify data gaps, and develop solutions to fill those gaps
  • Lead, collaborate with, and support interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers to develop and implement multi-discipline solutions for soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor remediation projects
  • Participate in project scoping, costing, proposal preparation, and client presentations
  • Manage projects at the project management level, including tracking of milestones and deliverables with strong ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Effective oral presentations and technical writing; work plans and reports; data compilation and analysis
  • Prepare proposals reflecting understanding of client needs, development of budgets and cost estimates, and managing established client relationships
  • Tracking of milestones, deliverables, and compliance with established budgets, plans, specifications, company standards of workmanship, quality and performance, and with the terms and conditions of the contract
  • Plan, design, and manage/execute field work for environmental projects (e.g., sampling of soil, sediment, and groundwater)
  • Review and analyze the cost and cost control progress, financial and other site-generated data to evaluate job status and compliance
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor work activities
Starting point for growth
  • BS or MS in Hydrogeology, Geology, or related degree
  • 5 - 15 years environmental consulting experience, ranging from site characterization through remedial implementation and site closure
  • Registered professional geologist in one or more states
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and programs
  • Strong team player that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously
  • This position encompasses both office work (technical design, project/task management, data analysis, and report preparation) as well as field work
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification preferred
  • Experience with fate and transport of inorganic constituents a plus
  • Experience training and/or mentoring junior-level technical staff a plus
  • Active participation in professional associations and other organizations a plus
