- Highly motivated, qualified and client‑service orientated Project Engineer specializing in roadway/highway construction management
- Construction schedule monitoring
- Project budget monitoring
- Understand and implement project plans and special provisions
- Evaluate and document construction operations
- Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes to achieve final project acceptance
- Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back‑check work of others
- Interact and communicate effectively with team members, clients and other agencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- IDOT or Illinois Tollway Construction Management experience
- 3+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection
- One or more of DOT construction material certifications in: IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities;
Mixture Aggregate Technician Course;
Hot‑Mix Asphalt Level I or II Technician Course;
Portland Cement Concrete Level I or II Technician Course; OSHA 10‑Hour Construction Trades Training; IDOT Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop Module 1, 2, and/or 3;
Grading and Base - Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation standards
- Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point); CADD (Micro Station preferred)
- Experience in roadway design using GEOPAK and Micro Station
- Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying
- Have a solid understanding of IDOT’s consulting expectations and needs
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
