Bloom is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer with experience in Highway/Roadway principles and the ability to serve as Project Manager if needed. Candidate will lead design and plan production teams to successfully deliver transportation infrastructure projects involving freeways, highways, roadways and bridges. Candidates should have experience working on Phase I and Phase II transportation projects in Illinois, ideally for both IDOT and the Illinois Tollway.

Job Description Details

• Leading a team of engineers and drafters
• Interacting and communicating effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies
• Coordinating with subconsultants
• Directing and training staff on project engineering (roadway geometrics, corridor models, staging)
• Preparing project design and environmental reports
• Assisting with the preparation of proposals and contracts
• Managing project financials
• Participating in quality control/quality assurance
• Developing Client Relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• PE license required (Illinois)
• 7 to 12 years of progressive experience in transportation design
• Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Illinois Tollway design engineering practices, standards, and documentation
• Experience with Micro Station V8i SS10, Open Roads Designer Connect Edition (CE), Project Wise, AutoTURN, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam
• Ability to collaborate with the design team, clients, and agencies
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
