Quality Engineer

Join a top manufacturer in the automotive industry. They are seeking a high-performing Quality Engineer to join their team in Chicago.

• Status:
  Full-time, onsite

• Drive the deployment of quality engineering practices throughout product development phases to ensure design and manufacturing outputs achieve defined performance and reliability targets.
• Create, formalize, and roll out quality-related deliverables aligned with internal protocols, customer expectations, and applicable industry frameworks for assigned advanced program components.
• Communicate progress, risks, and emerging concerns related to APQP and PPAP activities that may influence program quality outcomes or cost performance.
• Serve as a primary liaison with customers and suppliers on product quality topics, ensuring issues are escalated, clarified, and resolved effectively.
• Lead structured problem-solving efforts for both internal and external quality concerns, maintaining full adherence to operational procedures and ensuring corrective actions properly drive updates to PFMEAs, control plans, and other Core Tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in a quality-related discipline, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) status, or an equivalent blend of academic and professional preparation.
• Minimum of three years supporting quality operations within an automotive manufacturing environment in a coordinator, supervisor, or similar capacity.
• At least five years working directly with supplier and customer quality functions, including evaluation, communication, and resolution of technical quality issues.
• Demonstrated experience leading APQP and PPAP activities for new automotive product launches, including documentation, risk analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong competency in Root Cause Analysis, statistical and metrology techniques, blueprint interpretation, and application of Core Tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, and Control Plans.
