Senior Project Manager

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support our client in Chicago, IL. The Senior Project Manager will oversee the design, construction, and implementation of energy efficiency, renewable, mechanical, and central plant projects. This role will coordinate across engineering, development, subcontractors, and project delivery teams to ensure safe, high-quality, on‑time execution.

• Lead project execution across mechanical, central plant, renewable energy, energy storage, and efficiency initiatives.
• Enforce project safety programs and ensure compliance with all industry and jurisdictional standards.
• Coordinate project scope development, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, scheduling, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and budget alignment.
• Provide routine project updates, documentation, and reports to internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate technologies, equipment, and engineering designs to recommend optimal solutions.
• Oversee job cost accounting, expenditures, and resource management throughout all project phases.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 7 years of senior-level project management experience in electrical, mechanical, central plant, or industrial power construction.
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure upgrades, retrofits, building controls, and energy services projects.
• Proven ability to apply OSHA safety standards and interpret mechanical/electrical engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Primavera, PowerPoint, and Procore.
• Strong communication, technical writing, presentation, and stakeholder‑coordination skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to support occasional on‑call needs.
• OSHA 30 certification.

• Salary Range: $110,000 - $160,000 depending on experience
