Overview

Role: EMAT Thermal Performance Engineer.

Work location:

Auburn Hills, Michigan. Background and Meet and Greet: MANDATORY.

• Ensure that vehicle functional objectives are achieved and recommend actions to the Product team; conduct reviews of functional systems (simulation and testing), cooling systems status with program chiefs, development test planning with lab engineers, and annual hot trip execution for assigned programs. Lead the communications and reporting of issues including status updates and driving issue resolution.
• Proactive planning and tracking of vehicle validation, active support of aero/thermal attributes, and DVP&R test and reporting. The engineer may interact with members of the exterior styling studio as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Chauffeur’s License or willingness and ability to obtain one (good to have)
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with thermal development, HVAC, or cooling systems
• Experience with data acquisition systems
• Experience with drive cell / wind tunnel testing
• Experience working with and directing bargaining unit mechanics
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to lead teams
• Always eager to learn and improve
• Strong interpersonal and writing skills
