About the Position

Mid‑level Civil Engineer – Transportation for a minority‑owned civil engineering firm in Chicago, Illinois. Permanent, full‑time position.

• Base pay range: $80,000 – $155,000 per year

• Design, plan, and oversee construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure (roads, bridges, highways).
• Use Microstation, Power Geo Pak , and Open Roads for design and modeling.
• Apply roadway geometrics principles to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive designs.
• Prepare and present detailed reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Conduct site inspections and surveys to confirm feasibility and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of transportation design experience.
• Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency with Microstation, Power Geo Pak , and Open Roads.
• Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles and regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of successfully completed transportation projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
