This Systems Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise voice and Unified Communications (UC) environments, with a strong emphasis on VoIP technologies. The role blends hands‑on systems engineering with operational ownership.

* This role is required to be onsite 6 days out of the month in downtown Chicago, IL

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support enterprise VoIP and Unified Communications environments.
• Administer Cisco voice platforms including CUCM, Expressway, Unity, UCCX/ACD, and Cisco Emergency Responder (CER).
• Support Microsoft Teams Phone System (dial plans, call routing, voicemail).
• Own operational support platform (Pronto dialers, servers, IVR, web surveys).
• Monitor and resolve voice and survey issues using tools such as RTMT, Wireshark, and Netscout.
• Partner with network teams to ensure LAN/WAN integration and QoS for voice traffic.
• Install, configure, and support Windows Server environments.
• Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Work with vendors and service providers to manage escalations and performance.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in voice engineering, systems engineering, or telecommunications.
• Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, H.323).
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco Call Manager, Unity voicemail, UCCX/ACD, and CER.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Phone System.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server administration and security.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
