Position: CARBON CAPTURE PROJECT MANAGER

The Carbon Capture Project Manager will provide technical and project leadership for the evaluation, selection, integration, and commercialization of carbon capture technology at an existing combined-cycle power plant. This role leads carbon capture projects from early feasibility through commercial operation, with responsibility for technology selection, cross-disciplinary coordination, and execution, while ensuring alignment with plant operations, schedule, and budget.

Overview of our Hiring Process

We take a progressive approach to our interview process. Which means that we don’t keep the application window open long and get you right into panel conversations with those you will be working with day-to-day. Final round interviews are usually held onsite and include members of our leadership team. In some situations, we will ask candidates to complete a project or build a presentation when it is relevant to the job.

Work Location

To foster a collaborative culture, we aim to place roles within one of our office locations. In some cases, we may create remote roles when it makes sense for business. Frequency and location of travel for team meetings and job duties will vary by role. MRP is an in‑office 4 days a week organization.

Compensation

MRP builds its compensation packages to reward and recognize high-performing talent. Base salary ranges are designed to be competitive by market and take into consideration individual experience, technical skills and long‑term career growth. Each employee is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on their level and company annual performance metrics.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of post-combustion carbon capture projects for combined-cycle power plant applications
  • Manage evaluation and selection of carbon capture technologies, including liquid solvent and solid sorbent–based systems
  • Oversee process engineering activities, including modeling, heat and material balances, and plant integration studies
  • Direct techno-economic evaluations, vendor engagement, and technology risk assessments
  • Coordinate with plant operations, EPC contractors, technology providers, and regulators to ensure successful integration into an operating facility
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and risk from feasibility through FEED, construction, commissioning, and startup
  • Support permitting, environmental compliance, and stakeholder engagement related to carbon capture deployment
  • Provide leadership during commissioning and transition to commercial operations, including performance testing and optimization
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering, operations, commercial, and executive teams
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering required (advanced degree preferred)
  • Experience managing complex industrial or energy infrastructure projects
  • Technical background in carbon capture, gas separation, or large-scale chemical process systems (solid sorbent experience a plus)
  • Understanding of combined-cycle power plant operations and thermal integration
  • Experience taking process technologies from concept through commercial operation
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Familiarity with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and EPC execution models
