Project Manager - Energy Storage (Multiple Locations)

We are searching for well‑rounded and driven Project Managers with a focus on Energy Storage. This opportunity requires an individual who enjoys engineering, business development, and project management roles, a “seller‑doer” type with high quality technical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Lead proposal efforts for energy storage Owner’s Engineering proposals.
- Develop scope, schedule, and budget for proposal efforts; negotiate refinements with client upon award.
- Co‑ordinate, as necessary, with permitting authorities, customers, and design leads to deliver a customer solution within required project standards.
- Coordinate a multi‑disciplined engineering team to complete required tasks.
- Set and maintain project schedule, monitor and manage team to meet project deadlines.
- Set and maintain project budgets, request and develop change order documents as required.
- Serve as the primary interface between client and technical team.
- Multi‑task among several projects simultaneously.
- Efficiently coordinate with discipline leads to deliver site plans, energy storage technology, building plans, one‑line drawings, BOP plans, substation plans, and other conceptual engineering documents required by the project scope.
- Manage approved bidders list, prepare requests for proposal, manage bid tabulation, and drive total installed cost evaluation of procurements.
- Provide streamlined project information and detailed bill of material to estimating.
- Drive efficiency in bid efforts; utilize software and implement practices and tools to improve conceptual design and estimating efficiencies.
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging energy storage technologies including pricing and prevailing commercial information.
- Participate in industry conferences and publications to expand Burns & McDonnell’s presence, including developing white papers and presentations.
- Conduct project status meetings with clients as required.
- Travel to client offices/project sites as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, or mechanical preferred) or related field from an accredited curriculum; minimum 7 years related experience, including 3+ years managing engineering projects.
- Previous consulting engineering experience strongly preferred.
- Project development, project management, or renewable energy experience a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to present complex information to all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies in the dynamic renewable energy market.
- Willingness and ability to utilize IT to streamline work processes.
- Experience with estimating or designing energy storage systems preferred.
- Knowledge of energy storage systems and construction practices preferred.
- Ability to effectively multi‑task and manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously, often within an aggressive schedule.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment, maintaining project schedule and meeting target due dates.
$‑ Yearly. The expected compensation range is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations and is based on factors such as individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year‑end incentive bonus program.
