Pay Range: $45.00/hr - $52.00/hr (benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid sick leave depending on location)
- Lead civil design from conceptual phase through design completion for capital programs in northeastern Illinois.
- Prepare civil equipment packages, construction specifications, data sheets, RFQ’s, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.
- Review civil vendor drawings, interface with suppliers, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, detailers, and designers.
- Participate in development of project schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning. Manage change orders.
- Apply civil engineering expertise to complex projects, develop non‑standard design solutions, and compile studies and reports.
- Conduct quality reviews of production drawings and construction administration; coordinate field inspections and resolve installation issues.
- Lead field inspections, installations, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
- Prepare and present technical reports to clients and industry publications.
- Build relationships with clients, contractors, and develop new business opportunities; ensure customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Participate in sales and marketing efforts and manage key pursuits.
- Develop cost proposals and qualification statements to meet financial performance targets.
- Prepare, present, and manage project budgets and cost estimates; report performance.
- Lead, mentor, and guide less experienced engineers within the civil engineering practice.
- Adhere to QA/QC processes and effective communication with other disciplines.
- Maintain compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- 3–7+ years of Civil Engineering experience.
- Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM (Revit), and/or Micro Station
. - EIT or PE certification (PE preferred).
- Experience in Hydraulic/Hydrologic Modeling and Analysis for water, sewer, and drainage systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (ABET accredited) with 7+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s in civil engineering technology (ABET accredited) with FE exam completed and 7+ years, or Master’s in civil engineering with 6+ years.
- EPC project experience preferred.
- Strong expertise in civil engineering design tools and analysis software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead discipline design and manage teams on complex projects.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
