The Role

Turn customer challenges into engineered solutions while helping advance MPE’s product line. In this role, you’ll design custom integrated systems, develop new equipment, and guide projects from concept through manufacturing. You’ll collaborate closely with customers, sales, and production teams to deliver solutions that set industry standards. This is design work with real impact—your systems and equipment will process materials at scale, improve efficiency, and solve meaningful production challenges for industry leaders.

What

You’ll Do Custom System Design
  • Create 2D and 3D models of integrated processing systems from concept stage utilizing Solid Works and AutoCAD
  • Design and spec mezzanines, structural supports, and equipment integration
  • Develop layouts that optimize workflow, space utilization, and efficiency
Equipment Development
  • Design new grinders, conveyors, and processing equipment components
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications
  • Work with production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost‑effective
  • Refine existing equipment designs for improved performance and reliability
Collaboration & Problem‑Solving
  • Partner with sales team to translate customer requirements into technical solutions
  • Work directly with customers to understand goals and refine designs
  • Coordinate with project managers to shepherd designs from draft to production floor
  • Apply creative engineering thinking to solve unique processing challenges
Innovation & R&D
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives for product improvements and breakthrough solutions
  • Develop inventive approaches that differentiate MPE in the marketplace
  • Test and iterate on prototypes to validate design concepts
What You Need Education & Experience
  • Two‑year degree in mechanical drafting/design OR four‑year engineering degree
  • Industrial design experience required (equipment design highly valued)
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (Solid Works preferred)
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting (AutoCAD preferred)
