AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager with a focus in water/wastewater infrastructure design and in-depth design engineering experience in municipal conveyance, treatment, and pumping systems in our Chicago, IL office. This role offers an opportunity to progress down the project management career path with a focus on client business growth, project delivery leadership and mentoring of engineering staff by leveraging top‑notch regional and national water/wastewater engineering expertise and capabilities.

The qualified applicant will manage and work with an established team of professional engineers on a variety of water, wastewater, and conveyance design projects.

• Serve as Project Manager on medium to large water/wastewater treatment plants and pump station projects
• Prepare technical memoranda, planning studies, and final design calculations, plans, and specifications
• Provide technical direction and mentorship for junior staff
• Coordinate with other discipline leads, clients, consultants, and agencies in the management and implementation of projects
• Participate in all aspects of project delivery, including scope, schedule, finance, and quality
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and industry professionals
• Assist in identifying opportunities, development of proposals, and statement of qualifications

• BA/BS and 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

• 8+ years of water infrastructure design experience
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience working on municipal projects
• Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000.
