Senior Project Manager, Transportation! Your work environment at EXPEXP’s Infrastructure & Transportation Practice provides comprehensive planning, design and construction engineering services for all types of roadway, bridge, water resource, rail, transit and aviation projects. With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we have a history of successfully delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects within the Chicagoland region. We are currently looking to grow and enhance our project management capabilities and are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Project Manager for our Chicago office.
The ideal candidate will work directly under the supervision of the Practice Manager and focus on delivering transportation projects for a wide variety of clients within Illinois.
- Manage a wide variety and complexity of infrastructure related projects.
- Maintain project schedules and manage project financials including profit/loss responsibility and targeted direct margin.
- Coordinate staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating and reviewing work by others.
- Perform design computations, oversee report, plan and specification development and sign and seal construction documents as necessary.
- Oversee and approve invoicing/billing and manage project scope and secure change orders as necessary, chase A/R and provide internal reporting as may be required.
- Work with other senior staff within Infrastructure & Transportation and other practice groups, as necessary, to execute project delivery.
- Act as EXP’s representative with the client and subcontractors during projects, negotiations, execution and close‑out.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for project pursuits.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; advanced degrees preferred.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including at least 5 years of successful project management experience.
- Licensed PE in the State of Illinois; licensure in other states desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead diverse project teams with a strong track record of project delivery from both a technical and financial perspective.
- Knowledge of delivery primarily for highway and bridge clients such as IDOT, Tollway, CDOT and local agencies required; experience with rail, transit and aviation desirable.
- Experience delivering both planning and design related projects.
- Knowledge in CADD delivery issues and workflows and proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians.
- Strong leadership, project management skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to mentor engineering staff.
- Business development and client relationships desirable.
- Industry participation in professional societies desirable.
Salary range: $150,000 to $175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location.
