Job DescriptionAs an S&C Electric team member, you’ll work on projects that have real‑world impact, helping transform the grid for resilient and reliable power worldwide. You’ll advance a safer, more reliable, and more resilient electrical grid, and our products help the grid adapt to severe weather and transition to clean energy.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic quality support:
Lead organization‑wide initiatives to improve manufacturing quality processes, directly impacting primary quality KPIs. - Complex problem solving:
Resolve complex manufacturing quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions. - Customer escape containment:
Drive containment and resolution processes by implementing corrective actions and collaborating with production, supply chain, and engineering teams. - COPQ reduction:
Coordinate production stop/stop‑ship activities, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to reduce the cost of poor quality. - Documentation review:
Review prints, acceptance criteria, defects, and disposition processes to uphold quality standards. - Advanced quality tools implementation:
Deploy improved quality methodologies and support operations leadership. - Project leadership:
Manage large‑scale quality improvement projects across multiple departments. - Quality support & collaboration:
Provide high‑level support for operations and lead complex quality issue resolution. - Metrics & feedback utilization:
Use metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements. - Mentorship & team support:
Coach and delegate work to other quality engineers. - Industry trends & innovation:
Monitor trends and incorporate advancements into quality engineering. - Compliance:
Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in‑person or virtual meetings as requested.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
- 1–3 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
- Understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
- Track record of leading and completing large‑scale quality improvement projects; six‑sigma experience preferred.
- Knowledge of QMS, including ISO 9001.
- Experience in process analytics with quality tools and industry metrics; six‑sigma experience preferred.
- Support RMA/Non‑conforming material/Rejects (NMR) activities with inter‑departmental coordination.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse audiences.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, presentation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Power BI.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ.
- Occasional work indoors/outdoors in various office or manufacturing environments.
- Infrequent exposure to fumes, dust, chemicals, radiation, vibration, grease, oil, lasers, and other hazards.
- Occasional noise exposure from machinery and vehicles.
- Infrequent contact with energized equipment and exposure to extreme weather or temperatures.
