Your ImpactAs a Generator Technician you will service and repair commercial generators on cell‑phone towers, traveling within your region. The role is ideal for independent, self‑starter candidates who enjoy challenging work and are prepared to travel.
Core Responsibilities- Maintain, diagnose, and repair generator systems; install and replace components or entire units as needed.
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure readiness; review blueprints or design specifications for installation or repair tasks.
- Install water and fuel supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other components, then test for proper operation.
- Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms and be on call 24/7 when required; answer assigned phone and email messages in a timely fashion.
- Perform all work with awareness of potential hazards—falls, electric shock, falling objects, traffic—and use required safety equipment and practices; attend all designated safety and training meetings.
- Minimum 1 year of generator maintenance experience, preferred 2+ years.
- Experience with generator installations, repairs, and operation of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Must lift over 50 pounds and perform stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, standing, and squatting for extended periods.
- Must inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
- Must be willing to drive long distances and work day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays; assume 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods.
- Must pass a DOT physical.
Base Pay Range $20,000 – $40,000 USD annual.
Additional compensation may include performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation.
