Temporary Curriculum Support Technician CTVA
.
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Curriculum Support Technician CTVA is part of the front-line support team for our camera and equipment centers. They assist with the check-in and check-out, preparation and maintenance of camera and support equipment to Cinema and Television Arts students, faculty, and staff.
This is a union part-time temporary position through the Spring semester.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesShared responsibility for opening and closing both the CTVA equipment and advanced camera facilities.
Prep and process equipment checkouts and check-ins through web-based system
Maintain operational use of all equipment; perform light maintenance on various equipment.
Assist with management of high-volume workflow in the rental environment, including deliveries between facilities for class use and department events.
Assist students, faculty, and staff in the proper use of equipment.
Assist students during camera review sessions and provides additional instruction and training as needed.
Assist in the basic troubleshooting and maintenance of camera and support equipment for the facilities.
Assist with research and assessment of equipment issues and new technologies.
Assist in the training, support, and guidance of student workers under the supervision of full-time staff.
Enforce department policies and procedures as well as those specific to the facility.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and classroom areas.
Perform other related duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Cinematography or related discipline.
Minimum of one (1) years practical experience in video, cinema, or television production.
Must have working knowledge of and/or an aptitude to learn a range of cameras, audio, and support gear.
Practical knowledge of advanced production methods.
Ability to maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to office protocols and college policies and procedures.
Demonstrate a solutions-based approach to problem solving. High attention to detail, proactive attitude, and ingenuity and creativity.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written to express thoughts and ideas effectively to others through a variety of media.
A motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and conscientious about getting the job done quickly.
Ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students, individually and in class settings with standards of collegiality and responsibility.
You would primarily cover evening hours. On occasion you may be asked to cover a morning or weekend.
Experience with MS Office.
Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Position Minimum Hourly Rate: $23.41 Position Maximum Hourly Rate: $25.76The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including department budget.
