FULL-TIME TENDURE TRACK FACULTY - CYBER SECURITY KENNEDY KING COLLEGE
Kennedy King College is currently seeking a Full‑Time Faculty to design and deliver instruction to students enrolled in the Cyber Security Program. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs, engage the student in critical thinking and problem‑solving, and foster a campus culture of respect.
The successful applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites, collaborate with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a diverse, multicultural environment, and have an extensive knowledge of Cyber Security that they can share in an engaging manner with all students. Teaching strategies should utilize best practices in education and be incorporated regularly into instruction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create an effective learning environment that fosters students’ intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem‑solve using discipline‑specific thinking strategies.
- Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to ensure that classroom instruction leads to student learning and the attainment of the student learning outcomes for the course.
- Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student’s ability to learn.
- Contribute to and provide leadership in the student’s academic and professional communities and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities.
- Provide instruction during scheduled class time.
- Prepare, deliver, and facilitate class lectures and discussions on topics related to course objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Prepare course materials, including course syllabi; evaluate student work/performance; log student participation (i.e., attendance); and develop assessment instruments to measure student learning and other resources necessary to support classroom instruction, etc.
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate and grade students’ class work, assignments, and papers.
- Hold office hours for student conferences and other instructional support needs.
- Participate in various department and/or college‑wide activities or committees.
- Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuit certifications required by the college.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering and preferably work experience in the area of Computer Security Forensics Investigation and Networking Certification programs.
- Experience as an instructor/trainer including planning, scheduling, and delivering cyber security and related training programs and materials. Excellent troubleshooting skills, self‑motivated, results‑driven, and well organized.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Preferred
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Preferred
- Cisco Cyber Ops Associate (formerly CCNA Cyber Ops Associate)
- CompTIA Security+
- EC Council Certified Ethical Hacker
- EC Council Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator
- A letter of interest.

- A statement of your teaching philosophy.
- A legible copy of your college transcripts (unofficial transcripts initially accepted; official transcripts must be provided at the time of interview).
- Two letters of recommendation.

Chicago residency is required for all full‑time employees within six (6) months of hire.
