Middle School High School Special Education Teacher in Chicago, IL

This full-time special education teaching opportunity is designed for a licensed professional dedicated to supporting middle and high school students in a classroom setting. The role involves co-teaching and providing specialized instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. This position is a contract assignment covering an FMLA leave, running from January 29, 2026, through April 29, 2026.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized and group instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Collaborating with general education teachers as a co-teacher to support inclusive learning environments
• Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation to align with district and legal requirements
• Participating in professional development and team meetings to improve instructional practices

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Special Education License (LBS1) is required
• Experience working with middle and high school students with special needs
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators and staff
• Strong organizational and communication skills
