Our ideal candidate is a fluent spanish speaker with a passion for language acquisition and cultural exploration. We are looking for an educator who creates an immersive, student-centered classroom where students feel confident practicing their speaking and listening skills. You should be a collaborative team player, eager to use modern technology and authentic resources to bring the spanish-speaking world to life for students of all levels.
World language spanish teacher 0.4 fte
Responsibilities:
* teach all levels of spanish, from spanish i through ap spanish, to students with diverse academic backgrounds.
* develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
* utilize culturally responsive teaching practices to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
* collaborate with colleagues in job-alike groups to design, implement, and refine curriculum.
* integrate digital curriculum and 1:1 ipad instruction effectively into the classroom.
* utilize instructional and multimedia technologies to enhance student learning.
* actively participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in world language education.
* contribute to the school community by coaching or sponsoring co-curricular activities.
Qualifications:
* valid state of illinois professional educator license (pel) with senior high school endorsement in spanish.
* demonstrated ability to teach all levels of spanish, including ap spanish.
* proven experience in applying culturally responsive teaching practices.
* commitment to collaborative curriculum development and implementation.
* proficiency in integrating digital curriculum and technology into instruction.
* willingness and ability to teach students at differing academic levels.
* commitment to coach or sponsor co-curricular activity.
* strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred qualifications:
* el endorsement.
* active membership in professional world language organizations.
* experience in coaching and/or sponsoring co-curricular activities.
