Physics Teacher

The DePaul College Prep Science Department seeks a collaborative, energetic, and positive educator for the role of a physics teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified and experienced teacher with the following characteristics:

• Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
• Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
• Knowledgeable of high school level physics curriculum and NGSS Standards;
• Knows state standards regarding proper lab safety protocols;
• Communicates and collaborates with peers effectively, as sharing of lab space and materials is often required;
• Ability to set up and safely facilitate labs to ensure that students are safe;
• The ideal candidate will have their secondary teaching licensure/certificate;
• A solid foundation in Google Classroom or other technology applications is necessary for a one-to-one classroom environment.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Physics
• Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
• MA/MS or MEd preferred

Salary Range:

Minimum/Starting - Maximum $48,000 - $98,000
