Education Supervisor – Head Start Program Position Summary The Education Supervisor provides leadership, oversight, and continuous quality improvement for all educational services within the Head Start program. This role ensures full compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS, 45 CFR Parts 1301–1305) and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Education Supervisor leads instructional quality, curriculum implementation, assessment systems, and professional development to ensure school readiness outcomes for all children through developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and inclusive practices.
Supervisory Responsibility Directly supervises Education Coordinators, Lead Teachers, Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and classroom support staff. Provides instructional coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Supports recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified education staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
C) Oversee implementation of a research-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (HSELOF). Ensure curriculum fidelity, vertical alignment, and integration across all learning domains. Lead instructional planning that supports cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and literacy development. Ensure individualized instruction based on child assessment data.
• Ensure coordinated planning across service areas.
F) Ensure full inclusion of children with disabilities. Coordinate with Disabilities Coordinators and service providers. Support implementation of IFSPs and IEPs. Promote Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and individualized supports.
D) Collaborate with health and mental health staff to integrate wellness into classroom environments. Promote trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices. Ensure safe, healthy learning environments.
E) Ensure educational services align with Family and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework. Support parent involvement in learning and school readiness. Promote culturally responsive family partnerships.
