Position Purpose

The Student Ambassador assists with supporting Heartland campus team members with campus engagement efforts. This includes coordinating events and activities, answering questions about Heartland, and promoting externships and employment opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities

Partners with the Director of Campus Relations to execute various activities.

Responds to all inquiries regarding HVP, including but not limited to events, sponsorship, externships, and job opportunities, in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

Completes at least one externship throughout ambassadorship.

Maintains clear communication with the Director of Campus Relations, responding within 48 hours to emails, event requests, and corporate engagement policy changes.

Promotes Heartland opportunities, including events, externships, and employment, to all 1st through 4th years.

Promotes Heartland through appropriate social media outlets (Insta: #hangingwithheartland).

Attends and participates in the annual student ambassador retreat, monthly meetings, and all campus events (lectures, career fairs, socials, etc.).

Updates and maintains advertisement (flyers) throughout clinics and veterinary school if allowed.

Partners with the Director of Campus Relations to choose and train new Ambassadors on their roles and responsibilities.

Requirements/Qualifications

Enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary Medical program.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
