Ben Bellucci Academy (BBA) is seeking high-energy, versatile After-School Sports Instructors to lead our premier youth programs in Cook County
. This role is perfect for a "hybrid" coach who can teach the fundamentals of both Basketball and Flag Football to elementary students (Grades K-5).
Whether you are on the court teaching a crossover or on the field calling a slant route, your goal is to build confidence, teamwork, and a love for staying active in a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Basketball Instruction: Lead drills on triple-threat positioning, ball handling, proper shooting mechanics, and defensive footwork.
- Flag Football Instruction: Teach fundamental skills including route running, flag-pulling, passing accuracy, and basic offensive plays.
- Game Management: Organize and referee small-sided scrimmages that emphasize sportsmanship, fair play, and fun.
- Mentorship: Use positive reinforcement to build character and resilience in young athletes.
- Site Management: Oversee student check-in/out and ensure all school facilities (gyms, fields, or multipurpose rooms) are respected and kept clean.
- Equipment Care: Responsible for the professional setup and breakdown of all gear, including hoops, flags, cones, and balls.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (coaching, teaching, or camp counselor background).
- Strong proficiency in the rules and fundamentals of both Basketball and Flag Football.
- Ability to maintain high energy and command the attention of a group of 15–20 children.
- Reliable transportation to move between various school sites in Cook County (Chicago and surrounding suburbs).
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check (meeting Illinois and CPS/local district vendor standards).
- Hours: After-school hours, typically ranging from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM (varies by school bell schedule).
- Commitment: 1–5 days per week (based on your availability).
- Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
- Flexible, part-time schedule ideal for college students or freelance coaches.
- Paid training and access to BBA’s national youth sports curriculum.
- All coaching equipment and BBA apparel provided.
