Job Summary

This posting is an adjunct position for a workplace literacy course. This customized curriculum is designed to equip English Language Learners with the necessary English language skills (such as industry-specific vocabulary) along with workplace communication and soft skills needed to do the job successfully. The curriculum will be provided to the instructor.

Essential Functions
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi.
  • Develop and/or utilize a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students.
  • Foster a safe and civil learning environment.
  • Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working with English language learners with varied cultures and backgrounds.
Desired Qualifications
  • Teaching experience.
  • Experience instructing a workplace literacy course.
  • Experience coaching/teaching workforce preparation skills (soft skills).
