Position Summary
The SSS STEM & Regular Program Coordinator supports Roosevelt University’s TRIO Student Support Services programs by delivering programming and workshops, coordinating tutoring and peer mentoring, managing summer melt initiatives, and ensuring federal compliance. The role serves low-income, first‑generation, and/or students with disabilities while promoting an inclusive, student‑centered environment.
Salary and HoursSalary: $25‑$30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Hours: Part‑time; occasional evening and weekend hours required.
Funding: 100% grant funded (contingent on U.S. Department of Education funding and continuation of the grant).

Key Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Student Affairs, or related field.
- Minimum of one year experience in academic advising, coaching, mentoring, or teaching.
- Strong social‑emotional intelligence and demonstrated empathy when working with diverse student populations.
- Experience working with low‑income, first‑generation students and/or students with disabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Master’s degree in counseling, Education, Student Affairs, or related field.
- Experience with student record systems (People Soft, Navigate, or similar).
Basic office equipment: desktop computer, copier/multi‑function device, fax, and telephone.
The position is in a standard office environment with occasional evening or weekend hours for workshops, events, or student activities.
ResponsibilitiesStudent Programming, Workshops & Retention Initiatives (65%)
- Assist in planning and coordinating signature events, including Welcome Day and Recognition Ceremony, and enrichment programming.
- Lead planning, execution, and assessment of fall and spring semester workshops, summer melt initiatives, and other retention‑focused programming.
- Collaborate with campus and community partners to enhance program offerings.
Tutoring and Mentoring Logistics (15%)
- Coordinate logistics for tutoring and mentoring sessions.
- Track student usage, performance outcomes, and student worker time and effort.
- Support academic skill‑building and related student success initiatives.
Recruitment, Outreach & Intake (10%)
- Assist in recruiting SSS‑eligible students through outreach events, presentations, and partnerships.
- Assist in managing components of applications, interviews, orientation, and onboarding processes.
- Review documentation for eligibility and support the completion of Individual Student Plans (ISPs).
- Collaborate with campus departments to ensure smooth referral and intake processes.
Data, Compliance & Reporting (10%)
- Maintain accurate attendance, participation, and program activity records to support continuous improvement.
- Assist with internal reporting and monitoring grant benchmarks.
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, TRIO, and institutional guidelines.
- Maintain secure and confidential student files.
