Re Generation Schools, founded in 2016, is a nationally ranked charter program with seven charter schools located in Illinois and Ohio. Re Generation serves over 1,800 students, 99% of whom are minorities and 86% are low-income. U.S. News and World Report’s 2021 School Ranking listed all Re Generation elementary schools among the top ten charter elementary schools in Illinois. Re Generation expanded to Ohio in 2019, opening its Bond Hill campus, and has added two more campuses effective July 2023.

Our mission is to ensure that all children have equal access to a high‑quality, college‑preparatory education through academic excellence and character development. Through rigorous academics, teaching excellence, and high expectations, Re Generation nurtures the leaders of tomorrow.

We are looking for Elementary Teachers (K‑4) for our Elementary campuses in Chicago, Illinois. The primary responsibility is the implementation of Re Generation’s curriculum and ensuring student success. We seek teachers with superior content knowledge, a track record of excellent learning experiences that deepen students’ understanding of multiple literacy concepts, and a commitment to continuously improving their practice through collaboration.

  • 1–5 years of teaching experience
  • Valid Illinois State License or substitute license required (actively applying accepted)
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required
Responsibilities
  • Implement curriculum and activities to meet academic standards.
  • Design, implement, and use informal and formal assessments to measure student progress.
  • Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to determine instructional and social needs that ensure student success and promote well‑being.
  • Participate in collaborative curriculum development, grade‑level activities, and school‑wide functions.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to create a friendly and safe environment, demonstrating shared responsibility for achievement.
  • Adhere to and support all school policies, enforcing school core values, high expectations, and a strict code of conduct.
  • Set and attain ambitious student achievement and social‑emotional benchmarks.
  • Model and encourage appropriate student behavior (e.g., grit, self‑control, social intelligence, optimism, curiosity).
  • Work with the school team to continuously evaluate and improve mastery of instructional, culture‑building, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a classroom that demonstrates discipline, order, and rigor.
  • Ensure that all students graduate ready for the next academic level.
  • Be accountable for student mastery of academic standards.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Reflect critically on teaching practice and implement improvement strategies as needed.
  • Participate in mandatory summer orientation (3 weeks) and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
