Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and coordinate the Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) program for Coordinated Assistance and Resource Education ("CARE") Services, responding to challenges that threaten student retention.
    • Serve as primary resource for students in need, managing a caseload and providing support, resources, and referrals via the Maxient case‑management system.
    • Coordinate basic needs resources, including campus food pantries, housing assistance, and emergency funding.
    • Develop and deliver trainings, programming, and communications for faculty, staff, and students on topics such as housing and food insecurity, family dynamics, and local sociopolitical tensions.
    • Maintain professional expertise and support network to ensure ODOS staff are prepared for challenges.
    • Enhance and maintain the DOS / CARE website with engaging resources.
  • Develop, implement, assess, and recommend intervention strategies to promote student success for students facing non‑academic hardship.
  • Build collaborative relationships across all LUC campuses with units that support direct and indirect student success initiatives.
  • Coordinate outreach and advocacy programs for specific populations, establishing community relationships to aid student success.
  • Serve occasionally as an ad hoc member of the Behavioral Concerns Team, assisting with coordination of interventions for students who also fall under CARE services.
  • Contribute to the development of training and education on the CURA Network resources.
  • Collaborate and assist with all CURA student concern reports when necessary, including behavioral, wellness, academic, and personal concerns.
  • Assist with Title IX/Gender‑Based Violence/Equity case management by responding to reports, providing resources, and serving occasionally as advisor/appeal board member for allegations of gender‑based or other bias‑motivated misconduct.
  • Serve in an on‑call duty rotation within the Office of the Dean of Students.
  • Represent the Office of the Dean of Students and provide student support at student‑led demonstrations and large‑scale celebrations.
  • Assist with ODOS assessment efforts to enhance and sustain data collection and assessment practices.
  • Participate in all ODOS and Division of Student Development operations, including regular meetings, programs, and activities.
  • Serve on division‑ and university‑wide committees, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience

Master’s Degree in Higher Education and at least 3‑5 years of relevant experience in a university or college setting.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in higher education or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, coordinating, and organizing student support outreach and services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with key partners and stakeholders on campus.
  • Experience developing and/or delivering trainings in student support areas.
  • Experience advising and working with undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect student and staff privacy.
  • Understanding of Jesuit ideals and ability to serve the campus population in alignment with the university mission.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Several years of experience in case management or counseling students in crisis is preferred.
  • Ability to positively interact and maintain quality relationships with diverse student, staff, faculty, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, flexibility, detail‑oriented, and multitasking skills.
