The Goddard School located in Chicago (South Loop), IL 60616 is looking for motivated self‑starters for multiple positions as a Daycare Teacher at our new preschool for ages ranging from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our state‑of‑the‑art facility is expanding in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago downtown, just blocks away from CTA and Metra Electric.

Overview

A Lead Infant Toddler Teacher is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment. Additionally a teacher is responsible to work together with another teacher and in conjunction with the entire faculty.

Educational Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field is preferred.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification.
Lead Infant Toddler Teacher Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment.
  • Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
  • Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements.
  • Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately.
  • Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence.
  • Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Create a multi‑cultural learning environment.
  • Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning.
  • Respect cultural and ethnic diversity.
  • Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty.
  • Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences.
  • Maintain a portfolio for each child.
  • Maintain the classroom Parent Board.
  • Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress).
  • Attend faculty meetings, in‑service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM.

Note: Must be fully COVID vaccinated.
