Research Assistant Professor of Bioinformatics in Ji Lab
Join Loyola University Chicago to serve as a Research Assistant Professor in Dr. Ji’s Bioinformatics laboratory at the Maywood Health Sciences Campus. The position is a full‑time, 12‑month faculty appointment, exempt from FLSA status, and is fully funded by federal and institutional grants.

As a full‑time faculty member, the successful candidate will:
- Design and conduct hands‑on exploratory and regulatory‑related biomarker analyses, large‑scale proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics studies.
- Develop predictive models and identify molecular endotypes for pulmonary diseases, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sarcoidosis, sepsis, and trauma.
- Implement cutting‑edge bioinformatics and biostatistics methods to integrate clinical and trans‑omics data.
- Produce publications, secure independent grants, and contribute to the laboratory’s research mission.
- Required:
PhD and/or MD in bioinformatics, computer science, or biostatistics.

Minimum Education and Work ExperienceRequired:
PhD and/or MD in bioinformatics, computer science, or biostatistics.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000.
Additional Salary InformationThis 12‑month academic appointment’s salary is determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
