Research Assistant Professor of Bioinformatics in Ji Lab

Join Loyola University Chicago to serve as a Research Assistant Professor in Dr. Ji’s Bioinformatics laboratory at the Maywood Health Sciences Campus. The position is a full‑time, 12‑month faculty appointment, exempt from FLSA status, and is fully funded by federal and institutional grants.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a full‑time faculty member, the successful candidate will:

• Design and conduct hands‑on exploratory and regulatory‑related biomarker analyses, large‑scale proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics studies.
• Develop predictive models and identify molecular endotypes for pulmonary diseases, including acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sarcoidosis, sepsis, and trauma.
• Implement cutting‑edge bioinformatics and biostatistics methods to integrate clinical and trans‑omics data.
• Produce publications, secure independent grants, and contribute to the laboratory’s research mission.

Qualifications

• Required:
  
  PhD and/or MD in bioinformatics, computer science, or biostatistics.

Required:

PhD and/or MD in bioinformatics, computer science, or biostatistics.

Salary

Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000.

Additional Salary Information

This 12‑month academic appointment’s salary is determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, including years since terminal degree; training; field or discipline; budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Special Instructions to Applicants

Loyola requires all Health Sciences Campus faculty and staff to be vaccinated with the original COVID‑19 and flu vaccines when eligible.
